Annual Precept

Every year in January, Winterborne Stickland Parish Council agrees its budget and sets its ‘precept’ for the forthcoming year at a meeting of the full council. The precept is the element of the council tax which is raised and spent by the parish council to fund the services that it provides.  The parish council it does not receive any funding from central government, nor does it receive any rates from local businesses.  The precept for 2025-26 has been set at £18,602.20. 

Budget 2025/26

The Council uses the budget to support the development of the parish council’s area by funding the provision, improvement, replacement, operation or maintenance of infrastructure.

Annual Return

Each year Winterborne Stickland Parish Council is required to complete an Annual Governance and Accountability Return. Once the return has been approved by the Clerk/RFO and councillors at a council meeting it is published on the council’s website. Our accounts are also audited by an internal & then external auditor at the end of every financial year.
